Hot spots?

So the horse I just quit leasing is very special to me, even though I finally have a horse of my own.. I still take him out sometimes and work with him, like the old days.. The other day though, I was feeling along his body, and particularly in the hind, he seemed to have some "hot spots". Is there anything I can do? They don't seem to effect him as much, he's just a little stiff.. Thanks!

Try running some cool water on it (that is if its warm enough) and do light walking. If that does not fix it then I would have the vet come out.
