How much bone does a horse have?

I have recently been coming across a phrase i'm unfamiliar with. I have been looking at horses for sale and people keep saying they have alot of bone???
I assume this related to the strength of the horses joints but how is this measured?
Is it something you can see by looking at the horse or is it something you physically measure?
If anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.
At 1st I thought it just meant a horse was a heavy breed. Ie. Warmblood types/hunters. But it's been said about finer breeds too????
Thanks in advance for your help
Kate
