Oats are great, they eat it, and whatever they don't chew completely becomes oats all over again... and then they get to eat it again. ha. kinda gross though.

Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.

Thanks for all your input. My horses are not really in need of weight gain, and a few pounds to wear off in the spring is just fine. Beet pulp is too processed for me to consider unless we have an underweight issue. Our nights get to
-25 C, and they are eating their free choice hay faster than usual. I will start with a couple of pounds a day, and see how they make out. They also have free choice Hoffman minerals, I am not worried about balanced ration. Thanks again!
