How old is Sundance and what breed(s)? teeth pics.

Here's a little info on him. We got him for free in October of last year. A woman had taken in some horses that had just been left in a pasture and they were going to end up being shot. She had no idea of his breeding, his age, if he had had any work done to him, etc. She said her son had sat on him while Sundance was in the small corral and he didn't do anything. Since we've had him we've started him with light lunging, groundwork, being saddled, and my husband has leaned over his back while I've led him. Sundance did great, has never wanted to buck, rear, not spooky of anything. He is still a stallion but so far has shown no interest at all in Chanti, both testicles were dropped when we got him. He's never acted studdy at all, he's always right there with you in the pasture, first to meet you at the gate, just dog friendly. He came to us with a bad scar on his right foreleg, his knee and he has a healed up place on his neck, also old, that looks like he must have ran into a t post and had it gouge him in the neck.
To me, his scars and just his behavior tell me he's probably older than 2. Young horses just have a different look about them. I remember Chanti's butt didn't even level with her withers until she was 4 or 5 lol. Hubby thinks he's about 2, I think he might be older than 2.

That pic is from this morning.

This is from a few months ago. he stands like that a lot on his own.

His tail was cut like that before we got him. The woman said it was so full of tangles and burrs it was impossible to brush it out. It's slowly growing back.

Any ideas about age or breed? I'd say he's got Paint in him because of his funky stockings but I don't know. There are times he appears to have some sort of gait to him but he doesn't do it all the time.

I'd say QH, possibly QH, Morgan cross.
As for age, i've no idea..

I'm terrible with aging horses, so i'm probably far off, but his teeth look like adult teeth and it looks like the Galvayne's groove has just started coming in, so i would guess he's 10/11ish, here is the site that can give more details Galvayne's Groove In Horses: Photos

Ok, got the book out lol.
I'd say he's definitely older than 3 because his canines have already started to come through. I would put him around 5 ;)
Since i cant give you my book ha ha, here's a good article http://horses-arizona.com/pages/articles/teeth.html

By his teeth, I'm pretty sure he is around 4 years old. The permenent canine teeth are growing on him(the tooth closest to the left of the picture), which wouldn't be present on a two year old.

In his side profile pic, he doesn't look very big. How tall is he?

Cute horse, btw.

Thanks for the replies. He is 14.3/15 hh. I know he's grown a little taller since we got him.
