How to regrow mane?

We have been feeding hay and used a hay ring. Well our horses were putting their head through and eating. As they did this, they rubbed a spot of their mane off. About 6 inches or so. We have now taken the ring away but now I am wondering if there is a supplement that would speed up the re-growing of the mane? Thanks in advance.

Use jamies! They are like a spandex covering for the horse, I use one on my mare whos shoulder gets rubbed from her blanket...

There is a great product by Shapley called MTG. Works great for mane and tail growth. I get it at Tractor Supply but most tack shops carry it.

I find using a biotin suppliment helps not only hoof growth but hair growth as well. I'd stay away from oily products as long as the weather is too cold to wash it out. Sometimes the oily products (MTG) can clog pores and hinder growth. I use infusium leave in hair treatment an it works great

MTG is made to be left in. I've used the product for over a dozen years with no ill effects what so ever - and that is down here in the South as well as PA. I've never found the oils to clog the pores just as the natural oils a horse produces don't.

I'm glad you 've had luck with it, I've used the oil based products before and haven't seen great results with. I've seen many horses with hair falling out at the dock of the tail from oil based products.

I didn't get to edit the above post in time. I wanted to say over use of the oil base products on a day to day basis with out washing it out.

MTG works wonders!!! I've used it on many horses for many different things I have never had a problem.

MTG does say to use it once a week.

I've used it on all of my horses and haven't found it to be a problem

Really? I need to look. I've been using it on Bobo for the grungies (rain rot). I use it every third day or so.
