So the plan was to use these ingredients:
Rolled oats (like what you make oatmeal from)
Black oil sunflower seeds
Then I also looked through the fridge and found these and threw them in:
Finely chopped carrots
A little coconut
A few mandarin oranges
A couple pineapple chunks
A handfull of frozen thawed peas
Some chow mein noodles
It was very heavy on the oats, then I added the other ingredients til I was happy with the consistency. In the end it was wet enough to stick together, but wetter than most cookie dough. I patted them into balls about golf ball size, put them on a cookie sheet and baked at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
They turned out soft, but if you want something crispy, you could probably cook at maybe 325 or 350 for a while longer.
Only 1 of our horses (the always picky and suspicious one!) didn't like them. The other horses were all begging for more!
