Thanks hon. I just feel awful for her. She's on alfalfa pellets and pelleted feed. The vet says it's needs to be "rougher" feed and from now on soaked.

I think she did clear most of it on her own because there was some of the grossest stuff I've ever seen (and I'm a medic) coming out of her nose and throat before the vet got here. Took everything I had not to barf right along with her, especially when she coughed and some of the phlegm splattered all over the vet's face. Poor guy.

She's drinking fine, nothing coming out of her nose.

I swear, poor girl came here all the way from Ireland only to have a rotten life. I just found out her previous owner actually rode her in the conditions he's in now. Even when she was skinnier!

Oh, how very sad. How ignorant of the previous owner to not notice this problem. Luckily for Maggie she has a good owner like you now. Hopefully with you changing the food that will help matters. Maggie will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Good news! With the vet's permission I gave her breakfast, soaked of course.

No issues!!!! No choke!!!

So, it's down to making an appointment with the big fancy vet up in KY to have her scoped, right along with Carolina, to find out what the blockage is in her throat. Hopefully it's not a tumour.
