Jee I hope he is okay. If he does have HYPP at least you can catch it now. Its not like you can cure it but ya know.

First off about the coat, I wouldnt be to concerned. Most youngsters don't lose all their first set of baby fur until they are 2 and a half-3 ish. As for the rest if you are really concerned you should get your vet out to do some blood tests, check his heart and lungs, temp etc.

Just to make sure.

I said he is hardly 14hh.

I worded it wrong. I meant he is under 14hh. But he is certainly not 13.1hh. He is almost Thunder's height.

He might just be a little guy, or a slow grower... how tall are the parents? Do you know the parents? I have a 2 year old, he turned two last week actually and he is right around 15.1 BUT... your guy might just be a pony.........

my yearling is about 15'1hh-15'2.

There is a paint yearling that is already 15hh at our barn. Then again there is also a 13 and some odd hand high filly that is an appaloosa too and her mom is a bit over 15hh and her dad is 16hh+
