I took Roma to the vet today for a lameness exam and the vet diagnosed him with ligament damage (I cant remember off the top of my head what she said exactly). Anyways hes been 'prescribed' 4 weeks of stall rest, a topical treatment twice daily and icing for 25 minutes twice daily.
Now I know if I am icing my horses leg 25 minutes twice daily I am going to want to be able do do other things while its icing, and not have to fiddle around too much with it... So I was thinking of getting a not too expensive ice boot or cooling wrap. I don't understand the cooling wraps that I have come across or if they will work. I don't know if and of this will work at all because he only needs to be iced from the bottom of the knee to the fetlock on the back of the leg.
Has anybody had to do the same thing and have a particular brand/style of these boots/wraps that you prefer? I looked around online and it looked like there were a couple different styles of how they worked (freezing or inserts) or how they fit and attached.
