Smile Im happy...

Yay..., the vet finally came out to the barn to give out shots to the horses. I gave my trainer a blank check back in may ..ive been waiting ever since. I found out yesterday that the vet came.. yay.. She said the vet liked my new horse. So that was nice.

I do wonder...why do some horses get shots and some don't.?

I suppose because the owners don't know any better, don't care or can't afford the proper care for their horses.

That said if you have a horse that lives at your home, doesn't go anywhere, is never in contact with any other horse or horse's other than his barn mates you could get by without doing some of the shots. Flu/Rhino being one of them.

Every horse should at the very minimum receive a tetanus shot!!!

I think it depends on the owners...

I know some people that only get rabies...

I get everything available..... I also get boosters twice a year for certain shots... (West Nile, Botulism, and... hmmm... maybe PHF?)
