Hello, I just recently got a new quarter horse. He was a very good cutting horse until recently he injured his stifle in an event. The previous owners retired him, and I received him. Have not been able to get a vet out here yet, just got him home 2 days ago. I know riding him is not in the immediate future, however you barely see any lameness when he walks. I know not to let him run, or to ride him, but my question is.......is it good for him to be walked on a lead rope? I walk about 3 miles a day, can I safely take him with me. Any other advice or info to share with me. Thanks, Iva

i would say (obviously clear with vet first... can call him/her to ask if he/she cannot get out) that walking for short periods of time in soft footing would be OK to keep hte horse happy and to keep him from getting restless... but yet again im not 100% sure this is OK so call your vet first
