irritated eye

Hey guys,
My Appys eyes have been really irritated from the sand in part of his paddock, their red and a bit runny at times..anyway I was wondering if it was ok to use visine or something on it, I don't know of anything for horses, and I'd rather not have to wait to get some ordered in, He seems uncomfortable.

I wouldn't use Visine, but would choose a non-medicated eye product like natural tears instead. A lot of horses get similar irritation ('hay eye') in the winter from having their heads in round bales and that is what we have used.
