It's JUNE. and my horse is still shedding?kinda..

Hmmm.. Sunny still hasnt lost all his winter fuzz.. Neither has Poncho.. They have around their faces butts and shoulders but their tummy;) and legs are still HAIRY!!!?? I brush them every day.. gave them both a bath and then brushed them and still nothing... Could it just be taking them longer? Sunny is a bit on the thin side so could that be why? My horses arent as shiny:( .. THey were on pasture last year around this time and LOOKED AMAZING... welll.. we don't have pasture to put them in this year.. so they are just on hay 2X a day... .. could they be missing something? I could take pictures to show you .. I just don't know if its normal.. because normally they are shedded out by now...:/

My mare, who has been done shedding for almost a month and a half, is in the same field as an older QH. He's shedded out fully, except for his barrel. The hair is obviously dead because it's blonde, and he's black.
He gets his normal grain, senior grain, hay pellets, and hay. All twice a day. They've also been out on grass quite a bit this year.

Do you have a shedding rake? I use a sleekez, and it's super awesome. When that horse comes out, I always go over and start shedding him out. It's not coming out in clumps, but it is coming out.

If you have a dog/cat/smaller animal, it's cheaper to get the pack of them. You could look around elsewhere as well. You could probably find them cheaper.

Sounds like that old QH could have Cushings Lexiie. Hope yours don't Barrel, but worth looking into. Ecirhorse.com is one good site for more info.

It's this funky weather. Mines still shedding out especially on her belly and butt. And she's not the only one that is still shedding. It's June and it has been in the 50s and raining for weeks. Every now and then we get a day with sun and high 60s. Supposed to be almost 80 by now. I think they know we aren't actually getting a summer this year.

Have you tried de-worming him with a different product than you normallly use? Sometimes that will help.

They could have strongyles. To get rid of them, worm the horses with zimecterin gold. I also just put my horse who had the same problem on AniMed Wheat Germ Oil and her winter coat started shedding like crazy and she's SUPER shiny :)

You also said Sunny is on the thin side. Worming will make your horse drop weight if they have worms but the Wheat Germ Oil will help put on some weight :) my mare is gaining weight :)

Oops, didn't see that you wormed your horse. But like Lexiie said try a shedding rake too :)
