Its me again, shedding

Does anyone live in or close to Sonora ca?

What kind of fly spray do you use is it oil based? I use oil based fly spray if you get to much on them it will make them shed hair.Your horse though should be shed out by this time of year. I have a twenty four year old whos been shed out for over a month.

I'll have to look to see if it's oil based, I don't think I'm using too much. But I guess I might be.

I just thought id mention the fly spray I know the stuff I use that's oil based will cause them to shed hair. If I get to much on them if your using water based that wont cause problems. Is her hair long like winter hair or short like a summer coat? Pictures might give us a better idea of whats going on just some thoughts.

To put pictures on here scroll up the page when you repley theres a manage attachments click on that. Then from there click browser botton I have pics stored in my computer so I just go to where there stored. Then click on the picture I want then click upload. And the picture is loaded on your thread. Don't know if I made sense but I tryed if not let me know.

Not sure if pics are really going to help but they might sounds like it could be a fly spray problem. But iam not real sure either if its oil based that could be it. Hard to tell with out seeing the horse in person but ill try to figure it out some how.

How often do you brush her? If you haven't thoroughly groomed her it will take longer for her to dispose of the hair herself, and that's what this sounds like. Take a curry comb or a shedding brush and brush her firmly once a day until she sheds out.

It's not like they can brush themselves, they need help sometimes :p

I use swat on my horse's belly and when I am done applying it, I usually end up with a decent amount of hair on my hand. I wouldnt worry if you are seeing short hair. It is naturally for the dead hair to come off when grooming. I usually see a cloud of dust and hair when I am brushing him. It's normal, just like when you lose hair in the shower,.

To shed my horses out I brush them a LOT! I would just keep brushing your horse. My sisters horse is still shedding and its because she just doesnt brush him as much.
