Past my name, I don't know much about hooves and shoeing. I just know my new horse has perfect feet and his show name is Barefoot Truth.

Although I was going to go to farrier school when I got out of High School..

Sorry, there's another member with a similar name that's a farrier......

It's good the farrier didn't get too aggressive with the trimming and if he's coming back in two weeks he can have another go at the toes. Taking off too much at once is going to lame him for sure.

If he had a bout of laminitis you'd know. Even a mild case is very painful for them.

It's hard to tell without seeing him move but the angles are going to fixed more by dealing with the toes and not the heels. In the pictures it looks like he's way back on the heel, but again it's hard to tell without being there.

We use Easyboots, love them for trail riding. Be prepared to have to buy a new pair in a larger size next year if you keep him barefoot. I started with a 0 on my guy and now that he's been barefoot for three years he's gone up one size.

Good trimming and good nutrition will help with the cracks. You might want to do a White Lightening soak once a month to ensure there's no greeblies getting in the cracks.

    Look forward to an update.

    Foal
I will update tonight. Must run but I have pics and a couple videos from yesterday.

He is walking ten times better today, not as noticeably sore. Still walking short in the front end, but not NEARLY as bad.

Thanks for the responses! More tonight..
