Joint Supplement for Tb

Hey there, I'm looking for a joint supplement for my 17yr old ex racehorse. He doesn't have any joint problems so far, but I would like to keep it that way. I am looking for a supplement to either put in his feed daily, or a monthly injection or weekly paste of some sort. Something to keep his joints in good shape, and to keep him in good working condition. I would hate for him to get problems now, because he's been so pain free all his life.

What do you all use on your horse? And how does it work?

I use dac Total Performance or Optimum Flex for maintenance, dac Hy-Victory on ones getting changes in the joint and dac Herbal Respond in conjuction with any of the dac products for aches (isn't rough on the stomach like bute).

Go to Omega Horse Solutions and look under "joint health".

I also try to lower my omega 6 sources and increase the omega 3. Recommended ratio is 4:1 omega 6 to 3. If you change the ratio to a higher omega 3, you can actually decrease inflammation. If you get the omega 6 ratio too high, you can actually increase inflammation.

Omega 6 sources include corn and oats. Omega 3 sources include ground flax, fish oil and lush pasture.
