I'd agree with everyone, it looks like a pretty good scrape that should be fine if you keep it clean. I doubt he'll let you keep it wrapped that close to a joint, and you'll need to watch for heat or swelling on his hock, but most likely he'll be a bit sore as the skin stiffens and heals, then be fine. Keep the area soft with salve or balm and free of dirt, and make him keep his usual activity levels.

Well I took him for a ride today and he wasnt sore before or after. The cut is looking better already so I think its all fine. I guess I just overreacted because the fence is so damaged and its such a solid fence.
