leg wounds

Buzz has recently gotten a cut/graze on his foot I'm not to sure what to do its not affecting him in any way but because where he lives is all black sand it has filled up with black dirt.. like its all hard I tried cleaning it but the dirt is gone hard and like a big clump and if I tried to hard I feel it may rip skin off
Should I just leave it or try and clean it?

And I was wanting some opinions on this other wound which has healed up but no hair is growing around it

There used to be an anglo arab that was kept at our farm and when he was a foal he had a similar wound to the second one, only it was at the front of his foot, he never got hair on that foot and because it was pink skin, on sunny days the girl would put lotions on it to stop it from getting burnt.

If your near a shore or beach I recomend taking the horse through the water, the salt water cleans the wound.

Even a river would do some good, if you can get it moistened it may come off with little resistance but you'll have to keep something on it. On the other hand, if it isn't bothering him, you might leave it depending on how it looks to you. Does it seem infected?

Could I keep it moistened with a human moisturiser??
Or are there horse ones out there

It doesnt seem infected (not had much experiance with injuries though) but I havnt seen it now for two days but will go out tomorrow but I have lunged him and he is working fine no limp

Id say human moisturizers are ok, it was E45 that the girl used for her horse.

Do you think any moisturiser for dry skin would work?

Would MTG help the hair grow back on the second one?
I have been reading about it in other topics and it sound like it would work, but me personally have never heard of it before. Is it an American based product maybe? Would I be able to buy it over here? How much would it cost?
The first one has seemed to have gone away though so that's good.

I no expert, but it kind of looks like he might be getting proud flesh. My horse had a cut like that last year above her cornet bad.
Clean the wound with water 2 times a day. Once you get the wound soft with water, that black stuff will come off with a stiff brush. Just go down to the pink healthy tissue.
Then put wonder dust or granulex on it (one or the other not both). The wonder dust (old cowboy thing has sulfur in it) will stop any bleeding & keep the flies off it. The granulex keeps the tissue soft & helps it heal faster with less scarring. (granulex advertises that it is for treating proud flesh).
You can find both of these things a the tack shops where I live.

Sorry, don't know of anything sold of there. The granulex has a anti fungal, antiseptic, & something to keep the tissue pliable. I'm sure there is something comparable where you live.
Call your vet, he can probably suggest something to use over the phone.
