He was spooked by a dog the week after I got him and he ran threw a barb wire fence. Had a bunch of others cuts all over him, blinded him in one eye and sliced his hoof open! It took him about the same as your horse 6-8 months but longer for his eye. I found a pic of his foot after it started healing. Ignore his dirty foot I tired not touch it to much aside from putting vet cream on it. Its little cause I took it with my phone. To this day he has a scally scar. Just like your horse in that last photo.

Do you want open wounds or will scars do?

That's so weird, there's a dapple grey mare at my barn named Zoey who currently has just about the exact same injury on the same leg from doing the same thing! I thought you must've been talking about the same horse at first!

Thought my horse bowed his tendon.
2 ultrasounds later, and nearly a grand in vet visits, confirmed it was tendon sheath tear. He is 100% sound... thank god.

oh... and sorry for the double post... but I must say:
All of you are so very brave! Looking at some of these injuries that your horses have had, I would be an absolute mess!

I was an absolute mess the day Blaze ran threw that fence there was so much blood all over him from all the cuts. He sliced his nose open and it was bleeding. While I was holding him still for the ex trainer to wrap his foot he nailed me right in the face with his blood covered nose! I thought I was going to threw up right then there!

My friend's horse, not sure how she did it but I've never seen anything like it.
