    Little Limp?

So I noticed about a week ago that my mare had a slight limp. She's not old, has shoes on all feet, right now is not being worked hard so probably not sore, wears boots when rides, has no heat, swelling, or cuts. The only thing is she kinda bobs her head when she trots on it. I don't notice anything at the canter or walk. Does it sound like it could be an abscess?

It could be...or a mild sprain or a hundred other things. If she has good feet and you don't see any obvious problem on the hoof/sole/frog (e.g. Cut, puncture, separation), I wouldn't start thinking abcess yet. Lameness problems can be hard to diagnose (e.g. Mild sprains can have little/no noticeable heat/swelling) and often you have to take a wait and see if it gets better or worse approach. I would do only light work and evaluation it day by day.
