Lump on Mare's Nostril? Squishy!

Went out to the barn this morning to find my mare with a moderately snotty nose (which has now cleared up since being out grazing) and also a lump across where her halter normally lies. I'm wondering if she bumped it or if it's something more serious.

Anyone see this before? She's eating/acting fine. It's squishy and slightly warm. She doesn't have any swollen glands on her neck/throat area as far as I can tell.

I'm almost wondering if it's a tooth abscess? Or allergies? Maybe she simply smacked it in her stall last night?

To me it looked like she hit her face on something and hurt her nose. I would watch it, check her nose many times a day for any yellow or green looking stuff coming from her nose. Make sure she is eating and drinking.

Hi-I found this post searching for pictures that look like what my Arabian mare has. That lump is exactly what she has on her nose, except the other side, and a bit lower (so her halter doesn't hit it). Can you tell me if you found out what it was and how they treated her? Thanks

It turned out that she had some retained caps that needed to come off. Her face would swell, go down, the come back up again.
