Lump On Pastern

I was wondering if anyone had ever had their horses develop a lump on the pastern on the inside of the hind leg just below the fetlock. My horse has one bump on each pastern of his hind legs but the one on the back right leg is predominantly bigger and gets larger after we have ridden or played. There is no heat in it and he is not sore to touch it or lame on it and it is hard to touch and does not move around. It is just this huge nasty looking lump. If anyone has had any experiences with this type of thing any advice on what it could be or how to treat it would be great. I am having the vet out next weekend but that is still a week away and I am worrying about it.
