Alright, so my horse has had mud fever that we have continually treating. I wash the scabs with anti- bacterial soap, dry them, put fisks on them and wrap them with polos. Does anyone have any tips and tricks they use to treat this? It's almost all gone (was horrible from his previous home). I'm fairly new to this whole "horse owning thing" so I appreciate the help!

Ps. Can mud fever cause lameness? He wen't lame for a while before we started treating it, and I was curious if the mud fever could be the cause.
