muscle tremors and sweating

I don't own this horse or know much about him but I went to my friend barn today and she was telling me about this horse there who has been having sever muscle tremors, mostly his hind end from what I saw and sweating profusely. I'm pretty sure they ruled out EPM, they said that he's not unbalanced and that if you held his head up he would fall over if it was EPM. I know the vet has been out, I have no idea what they have done tho. The horse is young, just 5 and gelded about 2 months ago. I saw him today and it's just devastating to see the way his whole back end shivers and he kinda hunches up. If they can't figure out what is wrong with him soon they are going to put him down.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas at to what it could be. Pretty sure he's a TB (I don't think he's got any QH in him so not HYPP)

Somewhat happened to a stud I knew that got gelded and got tetanus.
Kinda sounds similar to some of the stages

Did he eat something toxic? Are his vital signs normal?

Tying up syndrome. Google it. I had it happen to one of mine. Not a pretty sight.

Have vet do a blood chemistry and see what his selenium levels are. Low selenium causes muscle spasms.
