my horse is shedding already!

Anyone else's horses starting to shed? It's weird because I didn't expect Jubilee to start shedding so soon... it's still really cold out, but it is almost March and temperatures are going up. The weather here has been really weird -- super cold and then melting. The other horses at my barn are starting to shed as well, so I'm not worried. It's actually exciting, because that means spring is on its way!! =)

My girlfriends horse up the road is shedding. Neither of mine yet. Maybe there will be a spring!

It got to be 76 or 78 degrees the other day. The sad part is, its going to be like.. 30 tonight. And on top of that, it is calling for SNOW.. in South Carolina! LOL!

Yep, shedding (and growing winter coats) is largely based on the amount of sun they get, not necessarily the weather. Most of the horses I'm riding are shedding quite a bit. Unfortunately the one I'm taking to a show this weekend is fuzzy as ever and hasn't shed a bit!

Yep, I just learned this cool fact this weekend; more sunlight=shedding.

Every day I'm currying/brushing/grooming blocking loads of hair off of Blaze. I hope he stays warm enough for this last month of winter!
