mystery lump

Well have my filly booked for vet tomorrow to find out what this lump/nodule is on back of her ear. Thinking sarcoid, but it is unlike any ones I've seen.Hair covered about pea size nodule. It doesn't bother her but want to know what it is & do something about it before it may get worse or before she goes for training. Probably be surgically removed but we'll see just hope it's nothing more serious than I thought
Need positive thoughts for my baby girl

UPDATE but not sure anyone was even following my post anyways . I did get my girl to vet.
She was so well behaved. Stood quiet to have her ear shaved & scrubbed. Vet then sedated her & surgically removed the lump & stitched it up. Initially thought sarcoid but after examination of tissue vet said it was a melanoma

Not usual location & fact that she is young never really thought it was thatI'll have to watch her for further development of lesions{she is grey & more prone}. Vet said this should heal up better than if it was sarcoid & her ear should heal up without recurrence
