Just wondering, couldnt you have put her in a different pasture, or get your stallion gelded?

I feed beat pulp dry, but it seems most feed it wet. Some horses do not like it wet, and my mare doesn't. I didn't have luck with weight gainer, but some people swear by it.

Jillyann: I could have put her in another pasture but my stallion is 25 +/- yrs.old, I don't see having him gelded at this age, plus the mare was just a temp anyways I just gave her back alot sooner than I thought I would, she was lame and possibly had ringbone, they found her a good home.

Thanks for the info about slaughter horses, everyone! I can never bear the thought of horses going to slaughter. You are truly a gem for saving him! Don't you just wish you can save them all?
