Exclamation Newcomer worried about Mini Horse

Hello! I know I'm breaking lots of proper forum rules by just posting out the gate but I'm in need of some advice. I have a five month old miniature horse who has been sporadically coughing through this past week. At first I didn't think much of it but my husband said he took a coughing fit just the other day. My mini is now breathing hard to the point where I can see his little body move and nostrils flare. I'm worried. I'm going to call the vet first thing in the morning but I'm hoping someone can give me piece of mind that he will be ok until morning. Thanks!

Does he have any discharge coming from his nose?

    What vaccinations has he had?

What is your environment like right now? Dry and dusty?

    Is his hay really dusty?

Whats his temperature? Any other symptoms? What are his eyes like? Dull? Alert? What are his ears doing? Does he perk up when your around? Or are his ears back like he doesnt feel good or is grumpy?

    Is he walking? Eating? Drinking?

Trying to lie down and roll at all?

Have you checked his temp? I would probably do a temp check. I can't remember how many shots a horse has had by 5 months.

    I think it's flu season.....

He is eating and drinking. His nose is wet on the inside but not drippy or anything. He's had his coggins and was wormed about two weeks ago. He's in a pasture with lots of grass and the barn lot is covered in dead grass. It's not really that dusty in the lot. He's acting decent but a bit lethargic. I have a feeling it's pneumonia :(
