    Not a good vet trip

So, as I said last week I treated for a week with the penicillan for the unilateral nasal discharge in our mare. Given my 10 years as a vet tech I felt qualified to make the decision to treat conservatively before vetting ourselves into the poorhouse. Well, I gave it my week I was willing to go, and still snots.
Today we trailered up to the vet. He thinks she has an infected gutteral pouch. Needs to be scoped, but he doesn't have a scope, so we referred out to another local vet. We are doing 2 weeks of uniprim, then the scope, hopefully it's just rhe pouch, we have it flushed and we are good.
Some crossed fingers for good luck would be appreciated.

On the up note, I had a coggins pulled while she was there, they checked her for a chip and she indeed had one. Hoping we can track her history a bit- but vet says it's doubtful. I would like to have her papers just for my own sake.

Please someon share any information they have on this. I'm a bit concerned. I'm not prone to worry bc I've honestly seen it all, but I read too much on the web rofl.

My best tip is, stop reading on the web!! (well, unless its here of course! Lol) but worrying doesnt do any good at all :) and to be honest, a lot of the web is full of BS. ;) I've seen people who ACTUALLY are SURE they are dying (rofl) because of something they read on the web, but really, they just have the cold. Lol

Crossing my fingers for you!!!! :)

    Yep,what rider said.

If the vet isn't overly concerned then just keep an eye on her.

Yeah, I turned off my search haha!
I'll be watching close. We had some dusty hay in a while back, which she got a few flakes of and then soon after this business started, so I'm betting that has something to do with it.
    Scope is scheduled, started meds.
