our horses are losing their hair like crazy, its more than a normal shedding???

A lot of people panic with this type of shedding, but it is very normal for some horses depending on changes in the weather/sunlight/etc. Our youngest mare, who has a very long winter coat and very short coat in the summer, sheds out in patchy clumps almost every year, sometimes to the point where you can just wipe off big areas with your hand. As long as the skin looks ok, it is nothing to worry about.
