Question ow to help mane grow which had ticks in

Hi everyone!

My awesome Appaloosa lives out 24/7 in a herd and ticks absolutely love him. The livery yard treats the horses for ticks and we always take those off that I find, but they have taken a special interest in his mane and now it has thinned quite a bit. I have heard a few Appaloosa breeders say that bay rum and coconut oil is good for tail growth, would this help the mane grow back too? Is there any other thing you can recommend? Please note that I live in South Africa so don't always have access to specific "overseas brands" like MTG.

Thank you!

We mix in powdered garlic with the horse feed to help repel ticks and the such. I can't give any help on growing the mane though,,sorry.

Equispot. While I can't say for sure that it works, I have never found a tick on my horse while I was using it applying it every 2 weeks.

You just have to see your distance...you don't have to like it.
