Peeing Heaps

I have only just noticed this recently but Buzz has been peeing heaps.
Like today I was out for there for around half an hour and he peed twice in that time.
Another time I went on a trial ride 30-40mins and in that time he peeed like 5 times.
I have recently checked him for a bean and nothing.
But he doesn't just park out and then nothing, he parks out and pees and usually makes a river with the amount he pees.
Is this a normal thing?
Or signs of something else?

I would double check for a bean or any sign of infection, just to be sure. Peeing 5 tmes in 40 mins is definitely not normal. There could be alot of causes. Frequent peeing can be a sign of a bean, a urinary tract infection, bladder stones or in some cases kidney problems. The horse will pee little and often because of the pain. It may seen like he is peeing a large amout, but bare in mind a horse can produce between 10 and 25 litres of urine a day, usually urinating 4 to 6 times a day.
is he uncomfortable when you touch 'down there'? Is there any heat? If you can't find anything obvious I would get the vet out. He may want to do a urinalyses to check for infection. Hope this helps..

Does he eat alot of alfalfa?

If he is peeing rivers everytime he pees I wouldn't worry. Thatss actually good, that means they are moving liquids. I would just pay attention just incase it gets abnormally smelly or if he starts peeing just a little. But, I have a gelding who does that and I had him checked by my vet and he laughed at me and told me not to worry (after checking my boy out of course)

Haha okay, yer he usually pees heaps everytime, was going to ring vet and ask today but was really busy, sounds like I wont have to now :)
I checked his shealth again and penis nothing and it felt warm but like bodt temp warm so I assume that would be normal cos if t was cold it would probably just fall off.. lol funny mental image :P

Too much urination can be a bad thing. I would call your vet and have blood pulled, ASAP.

If he's peeing alot more than normal, then it would be advisable just to get it checked out, just incase he has an infection.
