Peeing on Schedule?

My mom's mare pees EVERY time she eats. She'll even do it if she had peed like 5 minutes before and hardly anything comes out. Anyone know her reasoning behind this??

I used to know a mare that did that too. You'd feed her and as soon as she took her first bite, she'd pee right on her hay. It was gross, but whatever floats her boat, I guess... :/

The only thing I can think of is since the kidneys are kind of on top of the stomach, they were emptying the crap from their kidneys to be able to fit more food?

The bladder itself is sort of behind the stomach though, so idk

Nico pees after we ride...will not pee while riding. Some horses are just strange like that!

There is a horse at my barn like that!!! When I tie her up to eat (she is an outside horse only so no stall) she pees!!! And there is another horse, everytime you put her in her stall, she pees. No matter if she just peed 4 minutes ago outside, she will pee in her stall EVERY time you put her in there.

I think this is truly a "marking" thing. When we put hay out, the "lead" gelding will pee immediatly on his pile of hay, the others won't go near it after that.
I think it is like marking territory like a dog does, "my stall", my hay, etc.
