Phoenix had an accident - (graphic contents)

After 9 solid weeks of rain when mud has turned into soup, Phoenix unearthed a coil of old, once buried wire. As near as I can piece together what happened she was unsettled by a storm with 120km winds. After so much rain with so much mud being churned by her running around she got caught in some debris washed out by all the rain.

The first pic is the injury at day 5.
The others were taken at day 11 (Wed 28, yesterday).

We are treating it with a combination of dressings to form greasy layers. Manuka honey on the fleshy part of the injury, a concoction of Manuka honey, Comfrey mixed with a paraffin grease emulsifyer is applied proud on the exposed bone. When it looked like the bone was going to become necrotic we applied the Amnion sac of a goat as a biological dressings and were happy to see signs of growth on the bone three days later.
