Pony is sweaty doing nothing...

His coat is so thick that he gets really wet at day. Nights are cold, days are much warmer... I'm worried he'll get ill. Is it dangerous? What can I do? I don't want to shave him, he will need this fur in few weeks.

You can shave him and then blanket him at night and when it gets really cold

Is he super fat?

Have a vet check him out. He/she should be able to rule out any illness, and if you don't find any, it would be good to get a small clip on him, such as a bib clip, which clips the chest and under the neck, sometimes the tummy.

If he is sweating I would try and do some kind of minor clipping, even if it's just along the neck (bib clip).

Also, is the horse overweight? Drinking a lot of water?

He may have some form of metabolic diabetic issue or cushings.
