Mine have done it a few times too. Except.. I ride down the road to my boyfriends, and he has a indoor with stalls and everything.. well When I would go in the house or just hang out with him I would put my horse in one of the box stalls.. and a couple times she managed to poop in the water bucket.. so.. of course.. I would clean it up :P

But I think they do it just to do it or on accident.. lol

There are 2 horses in the barn where I board who do this - but only when something has upset them  They don't do it any other time.

The other day we had some young horses move into the barn so the BO was trying to figure out where to put everybody to make everyone happy - which of course wasn't working. So everyone went back into their old stalls and the new guys had to go in a tie stall - any way, even after getting moved back to their own stalls, they pooped in their water. Just to let him know they didn't appreciate it

OMG Joe has done this! And it was dark, cold so I couldnt see what I was doing! And his water (which has to push the lever to get water, is small!) He has also pooped in his little grain tub that is really little!! I think its a game to him.
