prayers

While at college I got a call from my mom our horses had gotten loose and my Tennessee Walker Tucker is choking. This is the second time is happened to him I called the vet but I can't get ahold of her I left a message so fingers crossed called me back. All of his food is made special for him to prevent choking he got loose and we couldn't control what happened...

Very scary. Hope the vet can get there soon, and he's back to health shortly.

I understand. It's difficult to be so far away when an animal needs vet care.

How old is your boy, and do you have any pictures?

That's okay, I'm just trying to help put you a little more at ease.

Good luck with your boy, and keep us posted.

We have a 12 yo TWH who is prone to choke. Even on some hay. I actually stand with him and rub the under side of his jaw all the way down to his chest. He has choked three times on us twice on hay, once on grain. Its scary. Usually it clears itself up pretty quick depending on the circumstances of what is lodged and wear.

You wouldn't be so worried about him if you didn't love him. Trust me, everyone here understands. It's tough when they're sick.
