Pregnant mare stocking up?

Yes there's an old healed cut on that rear hock. How do I know for sure if it's infected? I've put pressure on and around the wound and she didn't even flinch. She got the cut 2-3 weeks ago. She's pregnant would that hinder being able to administer antibiotics?

I don't imagine the cut is the cause, based on the way you described the sequence of events. Is there heat anywhere in the leg/hoof? Is she sore on the other leg, causing her to keep more weight on the swollen one?

I can't tell as far as heat because it's been over 100 degrees here during the day and 80 at night. But no her other hind leg is perfectly fine.
