probiotics...when and how long to use them?

I ordered SmartPak Probiotics for my mare and have some questions. I was told I might want to give her these for possible stomach issues?? How long should you give them for and what circumstances should they be given?

The reason I was going to give them was because of how much her diet has changed and will be changing again. She was used to eating hay/grazzing 24/7 and now she is on a dry lot with hay/feed fed twice a day and I don't want her to develop ulcers if she hasn't already. I am going to be switchig her feed again soon hopefully as well.

Any advice would be great. Thanks :)
