My daughter's horse got tangled with a barb wire fence back early fall. All of the cuts have healed except one. There was a deep cut above the front knee, in the cut you could see tendon and bone. Where it is and the way it is the vet didn't want to stitch it, said it needed to heal from the inside out. It has been healing fairly well except about 2 months ago the proud flesh was growing fast in one area, she shaved it off. It had been very slowly healing now in the last few days the proud flesh has grown by leaps and bounds. It is now the size of a golf ball. My daughter is planning to cut that off, it won't hurt him because proud flesh has no nerves. BUT...... it bleeds like crazy!!!!
My question... has anyone else done this sort of thing? How do you work through the blood? How do you stop the bleeding, the first time we did it it seems it bled at least a pint.
