I will be thinking about you tomorrow.

I am so sorry to hear about this but you really are making the right decision and I am sure Labre would thank you.

As smrobs said, you may be losing a best friend but someone else is gaining an angel.

We are all here for you!

Again, I'm so sorry. *hugs* Of course you are making the right decision, and are being such a WONDERFUL person for your special horse.

When I have to have one put down, I can't look at their eyes. I just cannot stand to see the life gone from their eyes. I hug them while it's happening, burying my face in their fur, then I need them taken away or their face covered before I lift my head. I don't know if that affects others like it does to me, but just in case, thought I'd mention it.

*HUGS*

It's like some sick joke.. I got a call from the vets offices today and the girls says

"Is this Rachael?"

I go "Yes it is"

"There is a huge emergency happening right now where two barns have burnt down with horses and cows inside."

Me "omg I'm so sorry to hear that"

"The vet won't be able to make it today, and if he did it would be very late at night, do you want me to reschedule"?

Me "Let me call you back when I've figured out a day"

Wow.

I am sorry to hear about that. It sucks when you have built yourself up for something and then it changes.

On the bright side you have some extra time to spend with Labre.

Have you thought about what you are going to do?

What do I do?, After that call at 5 in the morn I go outside to do horse chores and Labre was galloping in the pasture, mind you she hasn't moved this fast since 1000A.D.. I'm going to call back and make an apt for sat or sunday to see what the vet thinks I should do and I know the answer already.

What a tough spot to be in. I do not envy you whatsoever.

Yes, I called all my family and friends and told them this friday also. I don't know it almost makes it harder on me. I'm getting an apt for this weekend to see what the vet has to say.

Aaagggghhhhhh! So sad about the fires and the horses and cows that died or were injured but also so hard on you when you've got yourself mentally prepped for this day and then Labre running around like a spring chicken! As you said before, you know she mostly has bad days and that the good ones are far and few in between so you know you are making the right decision. I'm sorry you have to wait and agonize for longer. Well, you already have the day off so maybe spend some quality time grooming her, braiding her mane, feeding her lots of special treats. Hang in there!

That's understandable. You've been mentally and emotionally preparing for this day for quite a while, so for it not to happen today throws everything out of balance. I don't have advice, just want to let you know there are lots of people thinking of you right now.
