Question about blood for a coggins test.

Does anyone know how long blood drawn for a coggins can last and still be viable for the test?

The sample is still useful for a week or more. Vets often hold samples for a couple of days to get several together to mail off to the lab at one time.

Thanks... My vet went out of business just after she drew my coggins. I was supposed to get the results off of (might be .net?), and I was told it only took 24 hours from the time they recieved the blood to the time the results are available. was two or three weeks ago that the blood was drawn...and I also haven't recieved my records, but the check hasn't been cashed either. I'm not even so much worried about the money right now...we're moving from South Carolina to Texas in June and it would just be nice to already have all of his stuff together...not to mention I'm pretty much stuck at my barn until I get his coggins because his old one expired on Sunday. GRRR
