As I just learned from the other thread like this the vaccine isn't a guarantee they won't get it and it does nothing for neurological form which is the most deadly.

actually the vaccine can be useful because it can lessen the amount of shedding.

Its also important to keep in mind that it can just pop up, at double w [i know the people who own it] they don't have horses coming in and out a whole lot. Some had been to a clinic in the weeks beforehand, but they think it just popped up there. Most horses have been exposed to equine herpes virus, this is just a mutated form of it.

I just talked to my vet and their is no vaccine for it. There is one vaccine (can't recall the name) that will help with the respiratory part of it but not the neurological.

Yes there is. It is in just about every multi way shot. It's the EHM there is no vaccine for.
