I clean it well, then put some bleach in, let it sit for a few minutes, and rinse it well - putting their foot in a bucket of water for a rinse works great. THEN, I use a treatment meant for cows - there are 2 they are called TODAY and TOMORROW. They come in syringe like dispensers, there are around 10 I think in a box. Put the TOMORROW or TODAY everywhere there is thrush, pack the hoof with cotton, and wrap vet wrap around it to keep the cotton on. Duct tape holds the vet wrap to the hoof. Change it daily. Clears it up FAST.
Sorry for the caps, I was just trying to emphasise that those are the names of the treatments. I have used Koppertox, and Thrush Buster, but they don't seem to work as well when you're battling mud too. Good luck.
