    Rescued horse

Well this is a black beauty kind of story , 2 years back I had this tb mare . I had her for about 2.5yrs then my father decided to sell her since I wasn't paying much attention to school.

With me she was well behaved and would load in the horse trailer with no problems at all , after I sold her I heard people talking about my mare not wanting to be loaded into the trailer and she gave them trouble for 2hr or so . Apparently my mare had loads of different owners after me and no one wanted her , she has been badly abused and beaten ,they tried harness racing with her and she wouldnt stay ... she used to buck and rear for them and they used to beat her .

Last week I was so upset and missing her after these past to years that I went to gather up information to see where she is , that's from where I gathered the information above. I didn't know that she was going through a lot ! So I found out where she was and went to visit her .When I saw her I burst into tears she was skin and bones . She came up to me and was rubbing her face on my shirt . I was relieved she still remembered me ! I bought her back!

She seems much happy now and is already looking better ! Even though her scars are making me upset and I noticed that she had been hit with something in her mouth causing her to have a chipped tooth and so . But whats bothering me is that I know right now that she has no muscle but she has a very funny bone in her back ... You know the spine goes down to the tail sort of , and the rump has a half circle bone that leads to the tail . It goes half circles then straight down to the tail. Im not sure if its because lack of muscle or if she was beaten and had an injury. She doesnt seem to be in pain when I press it and I was also noticing that when she poos she doesnt lift her tail high , just a bit .

I am not sure if her bone was there before or not since she was full of muscle when I had her

Excuse my english it is not my mother language.

Is there any way you can post a picture of her? And especially the area you're concerned about, from several angles.

I'm so sorry this happened to her, and I'm glad you've got her back.

    Yes, pictures would be helpful.
Do you know how to put weight onto a horse like that? There are some pinned threads in this section you can check out. :)

Awe I'm SO delighted to hear a "happy ending" story! She's one lucky mare being loved like that! Hats off to you for buying her back and for taking such good care of her. :)

That is such an awesome story!! And the exact reason I won't sell my horse!! Lol I am so happy for you!!!

I have a question, when you lift up her tail, does she try to clamp her tail down at first? I saw a mare today that didn't clamp her tail down. They thought she had previously reared up and flipped over and broke something. Maybe it's a similar thing as your horse? You did say she was rearing.
