Ringworm? Or something else?

Gracie has had this on her neck for a few weeks now. I was thinking it may be ringworm but it isn't really ring-shaped, more... crescent-shaped. Also, I haven't gotten it, and neither has Ricci. Isn't ringworm contagious and can't it pass between species? Some other fungus, maybe? I assume fungus. Maybe it's not that either? It's underneath her mane on her neck. It doesn't itch, peel, scab over or anything. It's just a flaky bit of skin. Any ideas?

Rain rot.

When its ring worm, you will know. It will be a PERFECT "O" shaped.

Rainrot? Really? I didn't even think of it, because it's under her mane. I've never had to deal with it. Aren't tufts of hair supposed to be coming out or something? I'll look into it, thanks!

It looks like it already had the hair come out. If you think about it, under her mane is the PERFECT place for rain rot since it would take a little longer to dry, and is dark and sweaty...

Kind of looks like another horse bit her.

Me, too. If the skin looks healthy, I wouldn't worry about it, or you can just clean it with some betadine to be sure.

I think rainrot is more plausible. Ricci has never bitten her, and it has looked the exact same for a few weeks. Plus, the picture really isn't that clear. Camera phone and all. I've just always thought of rainrot as on the back and crest, haha. Interesting. Thanks everyone!
