At the top under where it says edited, pretty much says it all.
He is just like any other happy normal horse! Lol. His coordination and all that is fine, which is what made me think it wasn't neurological, but apparently its probably just a mild case. On the weekend I rode him around just bareback in a halter to see how he's going. He hadn't been ridden in ages and I guess I thought his lil problem might have magically disappered! I thought wrong. He still does it and my stepdad who was watching said this near side hind leg looked a little stiff.
You would never know if you saw him just in the paddock!
He's getting bored. I put a half deflated basketball in there for him (its he's brothers, but he has lost interest in it lately) but he didn't like it. He's more interested in his feed bin! He takes it off the gate, slowly puts one hind leg in it, turns around to look at what he's done, takes it out, then does it all again with his other leg! Lol. I havnt seen him do this for years! But I caught him doing it the other week. When he realised I was watching he stopped! Lol.

I hope Shadow is alright. My one friend who I used to ride with, thought her horse had EPM but took him to get tested and he has EMND and she's been treating her horse with vitamin E and he's doing much better.

I didn't mean to scare you, but if he does have something and there isn't a cure, there might be something to at least help him feel better.

Again, i'm sorry if I scared you, I didn't mean to.

Oops didnt read the date on the edit. I feel so sorry for him, and you I hope you can figure out whats up with him and it turns out to be nothing. Can you get the MRI or is it just to much? I have no idea what something like that would cost.

well I want to get a MRI to get to the bottom of this but my mum is a bit reluctant as she is just opening her own business at the moment and is a bit stressed about the cost of the MRI.
I had an Egyptian arabian when I was 11 and he had wobblers syndrome. We took him to the uni and it did end up to be quite expensive. That's another story! Quite a sad one actually.
I guess the MRI will be at least $1000 then theres transport and we would have to hire/borrow an angle float as we only have a straight load. Then there is the cost of the general anesthetic(sp?) for the MRI (not sure how much that is) and whatever other stuff he would need. Then I guess there would be a consultation cost and accomodation if we stayed down there. It would turn out to be quite expensive.
My stepdad agrees with me that we should take him to the uni but I guess it wont be too soon cause of my mum. I will talk to her about it again this weekend.

I'm not the OP, but I do believe in Australia, that a float is the same thing as a trailer in the States.
