Seizures in horses

I have a ten year old Quarterhorse. That has seizures. I Have never had a horse do this before. I could use some advice as what to do with him. I want to sell him. But I know nobody is going to want him with this condition. But I can't keep him.
The seizures aren't severe. And has never had one when being ridden. Please someone help.

Hey how ya goin, I can't say I hav ever been in this situation before but all I can really sugest is that if you are goin to sell him then be honest with the people, tell them that he does hav his moments but also tell them the other great stuff bout him im sure that the right owner for him will come along and buy him not careing about the seizures and there buying him coz they will luv him to bits.... is there any medication he can take to stop these seizures??
Have you asked the vet is there anything that you can do to make him more comftable so it doesnt happen as much??

Have you had a veterinary exam to determine why this horse has seizures? If not, that is the place to start.

You also need to go through the AQHA bylaws because there are certain conditions that mean a horse cannot be sold--has to do with risks. If you sell this horse and he does have a seizure and injures someone, they may be able to sue you.

But you should really find out why your horse is seizuring.

I haven't yet talked to a vet. And at the present time I haven't learned of any medication. For my horse. I don't have a really good equine vet in my area. And the closest Vet School is Manhattan Ks, I can't afford the expense of going to Manhattan.
Thanks for the AQHA advice.[/u]
