Not anymore, no. For the first 3? weeks he was on 2 grams twice a day, then he moved down to 1 gram twice a day, eventually 1 gram once a day, and just recently (maybe 4 days ago) we moved down to no Bute.

I'm like 90% sure that has gangrene. I'd would have had my vet out like, yesterday! If your looking to save time and $ you can trailer him to the 1st available vet.

If there was gangrene wouldn't it be black/blue and have an odor? I dropped off the same pictures to my vet and he said nothing about gangrene...

awesome little remedy for proud flesh is fura-zone and lime, it ends up looking like chunky peanut butter but it works really well. At this stage of the healing it may be a bit to harsh for the new flesh that is growing in but is definitely an option once it heals up some more. Sounds weird but I swear it works.
He sounds like a total trooper and I hope his recovery continues well. Good luck to both of you :)

Good luck in his recovery- not a pretty wound. How's he doing?
