She won't eat her supplement

    I doubt grass pellets will cause her to colic. It's hay in pellet form.

    As a side note, I have heard too much rice bran can have the same effects as sand in the gut. Was it an impaction colic, by chance?

    It was impaction colic..she coliced for a week and a joke. I was convienced I was going to have to put her down.

    I had her on rice bran for a month and a half so she could get her weight back up as she lost weight. I think I will try the alfalfa pellets. I did have her on alfamo but she has been too demanding and still is upset I haven't given her any( I ran out and it made her a bit hyper with the alfalfa and molasses).

    I figured I would just give her a small handful that way she will eat her supplements. I just haven't figured out what kind of feed I should get her. I was hoping maybe I can get something that won't make her high strung but has some molasses in it that way I know FOR SURE that she will eat it. Should I consult the vet before hand?
